For the past two months I have been posting about foods and places to dine and visit and it dawned to me that I had not even thought of even introducing to you some of the Korean that I have learnt here for the past two years.{ how rude of me}
From the beginners level I will probably begin by teaching or rather showing you the alphabets.
I will combine the simple vowels and the compound vowels in the box and then explain later below
Simple vowels compound vowels
ㅏ | /a / |
ㅡ | /eu/ | ㅑ | /ya/ | ㅒ | /yae/ |
ㅓ | /eo/ | ㅔ | /e/ | ㅕ | /yeo/ | ㅘ | /wa/ |
ㅗ | /o/ |
ㅐ | /ae/ | ㅛ | /yo/ | ㅝ | /wo/ |
ㅜ | /u/ { |
ㅚ | /oe/ | ㅠ | /yu/ | ㅙ | /wae/ |
ㅣ | /i/ |
ㅟ | /wi/ | ㅖ | /ye/ | ㅞ | /we/ |
And I forgot to add one more compound vowel in the table ㅢ which is pronounced as /ui/
As for the compound vowels I will write briefly how to pronounce them
For the time being I will let you practice and I will post more on vowels and then I will introduce consonants and the pronunciation!!
Keep practicing!!!
ciao
Peace out!
