K-Food Supporter {구절판 만들기}

After joining a this great group called the Korean Food supporters, {K-Food supporters}, they took us on a trip to Jeonju to get to experience Korean culture through touring and  also making Korean traditional food. We learnt how to make 구철판 {GUJEOLPAN}, a Korean dish that consists of nine dishes assorted on a plate and consists of nine different sections.The name is composed of three hanja words: gu (구, "nine" ), jeol (절, "section"), andpan (판, "plate") in Korean.
Foods are separated by color and ingredients

we had everything prepared for us. All we had to do was chop, slice, fry and cook everything and make sure we emerge as a winner from the nine groups that we present.
It was not that easy as it sounds.
Each group had to make sure that their food looked as presentable as can be.Well sliced and arranged.

Things we needed

Purple cabbage, carrot. mushroom, purple cabbage, cucumber, and bean
sprouts

Meat

Eggs

Garlic

The Korean Ajuma had to teach us how to make sure everything looked great. We had to observer and follow her illustration.

This was our group.
WE looked s ready to start cooking

HOW TO MAKE IT

  • Mushroom, cucumber,carrot and the meat need to be all sliced into thin straight and equal parts
  • as for the egg you have to  separate the yolk from the Albumen
  • fry the egg separately with no oil
  • Fry all of them in the same way without cooking oil {rgw mushroom, cucumber, carrot}
  • But as for the meat and the mushroom and the purple cabbage make sure you
  • add oil and salt..
  • Do not let them cook too much
  • One more thing is you need to make  make small  and very thin Korean style pancakes
  • Our group did a wonderful job but we were too slow and happened not to keep time..

but at the end of it all we came up with something good ad delicious.

  • CHECK IT OUT!!

Doesn't it just look delicious.

So for the eating process you pick up your favorite and place it in the Korean pancake after dipping it in the sauce and then wrap it as shown below and you are good to go .

Nyam  Nyam nyam all the way

It is so easy to make one can actually do it at home.

I hope you try making it ad experience the Korean culture!!!

Peace and love,
Phyllis
